History Halligan Insurance

History

Halligan Insurances was founded by Michael Halligan in 1981. He was a previous Insurance Company employee and also at that time, a member of the Irish Distributive Workers and Clerks trade union, which were involved in the 19-week strike of 1977. This added to his experience and helped establish a Company where high values are appreciated.

The business has grown to represent over 70,000 Trade Union, Association and Affinity Group members across a wide range of group scheme insurance products. Michael’s son Brian Halligan followed him into the insurance broking business in 1996 and has helped guide the development and growth of the business into new sectors and onto new platforms. Today Halligan Insurances is one of the most highly respected Irish owned Insurance Brokerages in Ireland.
